In Pastor Matt's office hangs an old painting called "The Road to Emmaus," painted in 1877 by Robert Zund. It depicts the account in Luke 24:13-35. Here, Jesus showed his disciples that everything that took place from the trial, death, burial, and resurrection were prophesied in the Old Testament. Christ is present in every page of Scripture.

Services are still on for this morning! Please use caution when on the roads. We will have people on hand to help you across the parking lot and to park cars, if needed. Remember, worship services only, so see you at 10:31 am. Some of you have offered to come shovel sidewalks beforehand--thank you. If you could come around 9:30, we would appreciate it. This coming Sunday if a First Sunday, meaning the first Sunday of each month is dedicated to understanding the gospel and various aspects of the Christian faith. It's a great Sunday to invite someone who is new to the faith. For this Sunday, you will see three chairs that represents three aspects and stages of the faith. As we look at Acts 16:25-34, the key verse is, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household" (Acts 16:31). What does it mean to "believe?" What is true faith all about? As disciples of Jesus, we must get this right for our our hearts and as we disciple others. Should the weather hold up, please come. A brief message from Dr. Matthew Perry, Lead Pastor, Arapahoe Road Baptist Church, Centennial, CO. At the end of the service yesterday, I mentioned the story from the Houston Chronicle about an investigation they did regarding 700+ victims of sexual abuse in Southern Baptist Churches. Please know this: (1) ARBC requires background checks for all workers, especially those in our preschool and children's area. Without exception. (2) We require two teachers/workers in each class. (3) We have security cameras in each of the rooms to monitor what happens in each kids' classroom, along with every hallway and areas outside. (4) Should we hear of anyone engaged in this behavior, we will immediately contact the authorities. Immediately. We will not cover up this behavior under any circumstances. (5) We have a safety and security team patrolling the church, inside and out, at all times. Our aim is for ARBC to be the safest place on the planet, so when your children are entrusted into our care, we will be sure to care for them as if they are our own. On behalf of ARBC, we are grieved and angered that some who are supposed to be ministering the name of Christ have instead chosen to abuse and ultimately devastate the lives of those victims, both seen and unseen. Our denomination's leaders are working tirelessly to make sure this is addressed and erased.
